Proposal For Product Photography

The company I am representing is Givenchy. They want to advertise their new perfume called “Dahlia Divin”. The target audience would be women of any ages. Anyone that likes to smell classy and elegant. You would expect to see this advertisement in many different places. Places. Such as in shops themselves, it could be above the product. It would appear in magazines suitable to the target audience, magazines like Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Elle and Vanity Fair. It can be advertised on social media websites, like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. It could also be advertised on billboards of any kind, some big ones but also could be at a tube station or airport. The lighting needed to make it look professional is any just to make sure it is correctly lit. I am going to light it from behind to make it look professional. As I don’t have access to studio lighting or set up, I am using my desk light and placing it behind the perfume bottle. I don’t need too many props for my shot. I need the fl...

Test Shots for Product Photography 2

Image
I wanted to test my shots again, this time I wanted to focus on the perfume as I couldn't figure it out last time. With more knowledge of lighting glass and asking Sinead my lecturer a few questions, I knew what I needed to do. So I started setting up and did 3 different types of images. The first one is the product surrounded by flowers with a white background. I then switched it up and put the light right behind the perfume bottle just to see what the image would come out like. I was surprised that it looked good and I really liked it. Finally, I decided to take the flowers away just to see what it would look like. I think it's very classy looking without the flowers. I am very happy with my practice shots and I will retake one of the following three for my final image, with any adjustments that I need to do. This was my set up. I was looking everywhere for a reflective surface and I couldn't find one and then I saw my guitar and thought that's perfect. So...

Test Shots for Product Photography

Image
This is one of the first shots I tried, I was really unsure as to what I was doing. I didn't know what to photograph as I wanted something that would challenge me and my skills. These were my first test subjects. I'm not too sure how I like them, I think the photo is too plain. It's hard to figure out what to put with these to make the image better. I don't have much lighting options, I have a lamp with white light and I also have a coloured light but it didn't really go with the products. The light on the products is hard to get rid of as they're all reflective. This is the second image, I changed the layout and I lay the products down and I think the products look better when like this as to standing them up. Though I still couldn't get the lighting correct again, I think it's definitely better than the picture before. I like how the light is lighting up the brands name "skin ingredients" in the middle bottle. I think that would lo...

Product Photography Research

Image
First Image: Image is from here . I picked this image as when I was looking up images to pick this caught my attention straight away! Personally, this image makes me want to go to the fridge and grab a can of coke. It just looks so desirable. This is why I picked the image as it is really a good example of product photography. It makes the consumer want to actually go and buy the item. I think it is the ice and the droplets on the can that make people crave it, they know by looking at it that it's ice-cold and that is the best way to drink one. I think the black background works really well with this image, it's so simple but really delivers the message. The lighting works very well too, the left-hand side of the can is more lit than the right. You can't see any reflection of the camera in the can too which is good. Second Image:  Image is from here . I picked this image as again it really appealed to me. It was the second one to catch my attention an...

4th March - Headshot Assignment

Image
This was my final image for the headshot assignment worth 20%. I am happy with the image overall. It definitely came out better than my practice shot, there is more contrast between Lauren and the background in this one and in the previous post, I said I would've been much happier if the contrast was there and it is in this one. Hopefully, I can achieve as close to 20% as possible.
