26th February - Headshot Assignment Practice

Image
This image is a practice for our assignment worth 20% next week. I'm not overly happy with this image as I think Lauren looks very pale in this and I couldn't figure out if it was me or the lights or settings or just that she was pale. Hopefully, next week all will go well and I can get as close to 20% as possible! If there had been a little more contract between her and the background then I think it would've been perfect.

19th February 2020 - Headshot Assignment

Below are examples of our assignment where we had to do different types of portrait lighting. All of them didn't come out great but I think I did great for trying them out for the first time. Especially since we had problems in the group and we were in a rush to complete it on time Broad  Butterfly Rembrandt Loop Split

This is the first image I'm writing about. I really like how it turned out, Lauren was looking at her phone and I told her to get off of it hence why she is laughing at it. I was using an external flash to take these photos. My ISO was set at 100, my aperture was set at f/5.0 and my shutter speed was set at 1/100. We were in the studio with the lights turned off, we just used the flash to light these photos.  This is the second image I'm writing about. I caught Lauren off guard this is why her eyes are squinted. I was using an external flash for these images. My ISO was set at 100, my aperture was set at f/5.6 and my shutter speed was set at 1/100. We were in the studio with the lights turned off, we just used the flash to light these photos. I really like the harsh shadow behind her, I think it adds to the image and makes it better.  This is the third image. For this image, there was an external flash set up on a tripod. It was at Laurens left side (the right side ...

This is the first picture I am adding as I really like how it turned out.  My ISO was set at 100, my aperture was set at f/4.5 and my shutter speed was set at 1/60. I had Manual flash on with 1/16. I really like the shadow behind Lauren as I think it really adds to the image. This was taken with the lights off and mostly the flash just lighting the image. Laurens t-shirt was reflective so I decided to use that. My ISO was set at 100, my aperture was set at f/4.8 and my shutter speed was set at 1/50. I put the flash compensation down to -3.0 I had full flash turned on, with TTL flash. I really like how the reflective writing came out but also how Lauren is looking down. It adds some emotion to the image. This was taken with the lights off and mostly the flash just lighting the image. My ISO was set at 100, my aperture was set at f/5.6 and my shutter speed was set at 1/100. This image was taken with the lights on, the other side of the room. There is a little b...
